Let's Ban Aggresive Dogs
Most of us like, if not love, dogs. After all they are "Man's Best Friend". And most dogs like people and have a need for their care and affection.
In most cases everything works out nicely for both dog and master. Most breeds of dogs get along well with other life forms, even cats.
Everyone that wants to own a dog and has the space and resources to own one, can.
There are lots and lots of breeds to choose from, each with its own characteristics, shape, size and temperment.
Incidents of dogs attacking people are very rare but they do happen. Usually small children are the victims, often ending in death.
I don't have the stats but it seems most of these attacks are from a very few breeds. Specifically, Pit Bulls and Rottweilers.
There are a lot of people that bring up the argument that it's not the dogs fault, the fault lies with the owner. It's the same argument that says People Kill, Not Guns.
My reply is the same too, the cause doesn't matter, the result does.
Eliminate the guns and there will be no gun deaths. Eliminate these breeds and the incidents of maulings will almost disappear.
While some people might feel they need guns, no one needs to own a Pit Bull. There are plenty of much nicer, more intelligent and more people friendly dogs out there.
I wonder if a study has been done on the psychology of those wanting to own a Pit Bull? Why would anyone want one? They are Ugly as Sin and and have a reputation for violence. Are they reflective of their psychopathic owners?
Even if the risk is small it's still there and doesn't need to be.
Already some Provinces in Canada have outlawed these little monsters, it's about time the whole Nation did.
