Canucks' Power Play
I have no hockey coaching experience but some things just make sense, things so obvious that an expertise is not required.
My gut feeling is that the only way you have a hope to score a goal is by SHOOTING THE PUCK TOWARDS THE NET! The vicinity of the 24 square feet that comprise the goal opening is where the puck needs to be.
There is nothing more frustrating for me, and nothing more pleasing for the opposition team, than to see the Canucks continually pass the puck around the perimeter of the attack zone without so much as an attempt at a shot.
The key to the Power Play is simple: Get the puck to the point and wail on it. If there is no room for a decent shot, then the Point man has to wrist it towards the net.
The point is to get the puck to the front of the net.
IT'S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE !
