What's So Funny?
There is something I've never understood. Why is watching a male getting kicked in the nuts supposed to be funny?
Movies and TV shows have often depicted the scene, whether in comic farce or violent drama. And more often than not there are chuckles or hilarious laughter from the audience. I shake my head and view it as disgusting, not so much the violent act but more so the reaction of audiences.
I don't get it. This is a case of a severe double standard. I wonder how the audience would react if a woman was getting kicked in the groin or had their breasts slapped?
I've never scene that in any movie. Probably because there would be a public outcry about violence against women.
So let me get this straight. Violence against men is "funny", violence against women is an outrage.
How about we view violence against any human being, man or woman, adult or child as offensive?
